IMPORTANT: Funds need for documentary

Hello everyone,

It's been pretty busy over the last few weeks, with a lot of news from seeing police harassing people and Assange at the Embassy to successfully urging the Ecuadorean Government to granting him asylum.

But with constant threats of extradition and persecution of Assange, I conceived an idea.

I am currently developing a life saving documentary that could further prevent Julian from US Extradition, the film is called, "Don't Kill the Mockingbird, Mr. President."

Of course, there's been a lot of documentaries made and broadcast about this topic, usually being one hour specials that touch basis briefly on what Wikileaks is, briefly on who Julian Assange is, and bits here and there about the leaks, particularly the Collateral Murder video and then more shifting the focus on the fall out between Assange and Daniel Domscheit Berg, giving more of a one-sided and bias view. And because of this, Hollywood directors are making movies on this topic right now, just focusing completely on the scandals, the myths and the misconceptions that will further make the American people misinformed and confused.


But with this documentary, this one is the real thing. This film mainly focuses on the debates of the questions that many have been asking, "Is Wikileaks, a terrorist organization?", "Is Mr. Assange, a terrorist?" and "Do the leaks put people's lives in danger?" To answer these questions, we first have to go through the history of censorship and persecution in journalism, with investigative journalism, leaking and whistleblowing to its evolvement to the digital age and other questions regarding the American perspective of Wikileaks that need to be answered.


Because this film deals with the world of both investigative and citizen journalism and with the possible threat of the First Amendment, Freedom of Information and Internet Rights to Privacy,  I'll be talking to those involved in the field, as well as in the field of the Internet activism to dismantle the myths and give out the truth about the subject. The funds will be used for the travel and production costs to make this possible.

As Mr. Assange's life hangs in the balance and the possibility that the U.K could still send him to the U.S, my mission is to make this documentary as a open letter to the President and other politicians as a comphrensive documentary and to educate the American people about what really Wikileaks and Julian Assange is about, and why the world needs new journalism platforms like it as well as the right to know about what's going on in government, financial, and military institutions. I feel that with this film we can achieve that to end the battle of First Amendment and the rebuilding the trust of the American people, as well as ending the persecution of Assange and other journalists.


I'm extremely passionate about this project and I really need your help to make this film possible. Shooting will start in October and will continue on to November to January and finished by March.
